Our Clients PORT OF TILBURY
While the programmes undertaken have been very different in terms of operational requirements the outcomes have been very consistent. Whether working in a dedicated Paper Handling terminal, in RoRo activities or with the widely varied cargoes of our Conventional department, the team have made major improvements in four key areas. First and most obvious have been the changes to process and management tools that have enabled efficiency and productivity improvements to be implemented. The forecasting, resource planning and reporting tools have made effective use of a variety of IT platforms to give managers clear and accurate information. The second area of involvement has been the training and coaching of all levels of management and supervision that has led to recognisable changes in mentality and behaiour. We have not only talked about an active and results orientated management style, we have also seen it delivered. Service to our clients is critical to the success of our business and we have been impressed by Cannizaro's ability to understand those clients' needs and to structure the programmes to meet them. Improvements in our understanding and measurement of operational issues and their causes have enabled a more productive dialogue with our partners that has supported change on a mutually beneficial basis. In many ways this third area of impact has been the most valuable. Finally it is worth recognising that each programme started out with clear objectives for performance improvement, financial gain and return on investment. These were the prime reason for carrying out the work, making the decision to engage Cannizaro a commercially sensible one. The original projections were demanding but have been delivered in full. We will continue to work with Cannizaro on other assignments within our business as appropriate.
The team gets things done and they have created a positive environment wherever they have worked. Perry Glading Paul Dale |
